10 Crucial Tips For Making Your Wedding Guest List

Wedding planning is no easy task. There is a seemingly endless list of details to take care of, not the least of which is creating your guest list. Who should you invite? How many people can you realistically accommodate? What kind of budget do you have to work with?

Here are 10 tips to help you create a wedding guest list that is both comprehensive and manageable:

1. Make a preliminary list of everyone you would like to invite

This is your starting point. Include all immediate family members, close friends, and anyone else you would hate to leave out. You can always trim down this list later on.

2. Decide how many people you can realistically accommodate

Consider factors like size of venue, number of hotel rooms in block, and budget. It’s important to be realistic here, so you don’t end up having to cut too many people from your list later on.

3. Start with the must-invites

Once you have your preliminary list, prioritize it by identifying the must-invites. These are the people you absolutely cannot imagine not being at your wedding. This could include immediate family members, close friends, or anyone who is integral to your life.

4. Make cuts based on logistics

Now that you have your must-invites start making cuts based on logistics. If you’re getting married out of town, you may need to cut some local friends who wouldn’t be able to make the trip. If your budget is tight, you may need to cut some people you’re not as close with.

5. Make cuts based on relationship status

If you’re trying to keep your guest list manageable, you may need to make tough decisions about who to invite and who not to invite based on relationship status. For example, you may decide only to invite married couples or only invite guests who live together.

6. Consider your parents’ guest lists

If you include your parents on your wedding guest list, it’s important to consider their guest lists. They may have friends or family members they want to invite that you don’t know as well. Try to be accommodating where you can.

7. Stick to your budget

It’s important to stick to your budget when creating your guest list. Keep track of how much you’re spending, and make sure you don’t go over your overall budget for the wedding.

8. Consider giving people the option to decline

If you’re worried about having too many people RSVP, consider giving people the option to decline. This way, if someone isn’t able to make it, they can let you know in advance, and you won’t have to worry about them taking up a spot on your guest list.

9. Keep your guest list private

Once you have your guest list finalized, it’s important to keep it private. Please don’t share it with anyone who doesn’t need to know. This will help avoid any hurt feelings or drama.

10. Be prepared to make tough decisions

Creating a wedding guest list is never easy. There are always going to be tough decisions to make. But as long as you stay organized and keep your budget in mind, you should be able to create a guest list that works for you and your fiance.

Wedding planning is tough, but creating your guest list doesn’t have to be. By following these 10 tips, you can make sure you have a comprehensive and manageable list to make everyone happy.

15 Tips For Successful Relationships With Wedding Suppliers

Your suppliers are responsible for creating your big day. They are the people who will make your vision a reality and bring your wedding to life.

It’s important to have good relationships with your suppliers, as they are integral to your wedding day. Here are our top tips for maintaining healthy and successful relationships with your suppliers.

1. Do your research

When looking for wedding suppliers, it’s important to do your research and read reviews before making any decisions. This will help you find the best possible vendors who will be able to provide the services you need.

2. Be specific about what you want

When you contact potential suppliers, be as specific as possible about what you’re looking for. It will help them understand your needs and give you more accurate quotes.

3. Get quotes from multiple suppliers

Don’t just go with the first supplier you find. Get quotes from multiple vendors so that you can compare prices and services.

4. Make sure everything is in writing

Once you’ve decided on a supplier, make sure everything is in writing. This includes the price, services, and any other important details.

5. Communicate with your suppliers

Communication is key in a relationship, but it’s especially important when working with wedding suppliers. Make sure you keep them updated on your plans and expectations.

6. Be flexible

While it’s important to have a vision for your wedding, be flexible when working with suppliers. They may have great ideas that you hadn’t thought of before.

7. Don’t be afraid to negotiate

If you feel like a supplier’s price is too high, don’t be afraid to negotiate. Many vendors are willing to work with you to get your business.

8. Pay on time

Make sure you pay your suppliers on time. This will help maintain a good relationship and ensure that they can provide the services you need.

9. Give honest feedback

If you’re not happy with something, let your supplier know so they can make improvements. But also be sure to give positive feedback when they do a good job.

10. Refer them to other couples

If you have a good experience with a supplier, refer them to other couples who are getting married. This is a great way to show your appreciation and help them grow their business.

11. Leave reviews

In addition to referring suppliers to others, be sure to leave positive reviews on wedding websites and social media. It will help other couples find vendors who they can trust.

12. Be patient

Wedding planning can be stressful, but it’s important to be patient with your suppliers. They often work with many different couples and may need some time to get everything done.

13. Don’t try to do everything yourself

While it’s important to be involved in the wedding planning process, don’t try to do everything yourself. Delegate tasks to your spouse, family, and friends so that you don’t get overwhelmed.

14. Take a break

It will be times when wedding planning is taking over your life. When this happens, take a step back and take some time. Go on a date with your fiance, take a relaxing bath, or spend some time outside.

15. Enjoy the process

Wedding planning can be challenging, but it’s also an exciting time in your life. Make sure you enjoy the process and cherish the memories you’re making along the way.

The Complete Guide to Planning a Wedding

It’s no secret that wedding planning can be stressful. There are a million things to think about, from the big details like finding the perfect venue and hiring a photographer to the smaller details like what favors you’ll give your guests. But don’t worry, we’re here to help! In this complete guide to wedding planning, we’ll walk you through everything you need to do to ensure your big day is perfect.

Set Your Wedding Budget—and Stick to It

First, let’s start with the basics. When it comes to wedding planning, you need to keep a few key things in mind. First, you need to set a budget. It helps you determine how much you can spend on each aspect of your wedding, and it will also help you keep track of your spending.

Construct a List of Wedding Day Priorities

After you’ve set your budget, it’s time to start thinking about what you want on your wedding day. What’s most important to you? Is it a fairytale venue? A killer band that will keep everyone on the dance floor all night long? An expertly crafted menu? Prioritizing your must-haves will help you choose where to spend your money—and where to cut back.

Start Shopping for Your Wedding Dress

There’s no need to wait until you have your venue booked or your bridesmaid’s dresses chosen to start shopping for your gown. Many bridal salons recommend starting the process early as it can often take several months for a dress to be ordered and delivered. And while you’re at it, don’t forget to pick out your accessories! Veils, shoes, jewelry—it all needs to come together to create your wedding-day look.

Choose Your Wedding Party

This is one of the most fun parts of wedding planning! Start by making a list of people you’d like to ask, then start narrowing it down based on who you think will say yes (and who you really want by your side on your big day). Once you’ve got your final group, it’s time to pop the question!

Book Your Venue and Vendors

Now that you know how many people will be attending your wedding, it’s time to start hunting for the perfect venue. Keep your guest list in mind as you search for a space that can accommodate everyone comfortably. Once you’ve found the one, book it! Then, it’s time to move on to other key vendors like your photographer, band or DJ, and caterer.

Send Out Your Wedding Invitations

This is one of the most exciting parts of wedding planning! Start by ordering your invitations (you can usually find great deals online), then sit down and address them. Don’t forget to include a response card to get a headcount for catering purposes.

Start Planning Your Menu

If you’re having a sit-down dinner, now is the time to start thinking about what you’d like to serve your guests. Work with your caterer to create a menu that will please everyone (don’t forget to ask about dietary restrictions!). If you’re planning on doing a buffet or stations, start collecting ideas for what you’d like to include.

Plan Your Wedding Ceremony

It’s time to start thinking about the details of your ceremony! If you’re getting married in a church, talk to your officiant about what you need to do to make it happen. If you’re having a non-traditional ceremony, start planning out the logistics of how it will all come together.

Choose Your Wedding Day Attire

This is one of the most fun parts of wedding planning! Start by picking out your dress (if you haven’t already), then choose the rest of your wedding day attire. Don’t forget to accessorize!

Start Planning Your Wedding Reception

Now that you have your venue booked and your guest list finalized, it’s time to start thinking about the details of your reception. Will there be a buffet? Sit-down dinner? Stations? Start planning out the logistics of how it will all come together.

Create Your Wedding Day Timeline

One of the most important parts of wedding planning is creating a timeline for your big day. This will help you stay on track and ensure that everything runs smoothly. Start by making a list of everything you need to do, then start slotting them into place. Don’t forget to leave some wiggle room for unexpected delays!

Finalize All the Details

Now that you have all the big stuff taken care of, it’s time to think about the smaller details. What type of favors will you give your guests? What kind of flowers do you want? How will you transport everyone from the ceremony to the reception? Start crossing items off your list so you can relax and enjoy your big day!
