In March, I was able to attend the Sinclair & Moore Workshop in Seattle with the insanely talented Steve Moore. It was three days of intense learning, but it was one of the most enriching things I have ever done. I also made some awesome pals and we sure celebrated our hard work with plenty of wine & cheese :)
The studio was absolutely stunning- all white, filled with natural light, and absolutely packed with blooms. I was definitely in awe of all of the texture and color. Typically when we do an event, we work with only so many different types of flowers & greens. This was a field day!
We were greeted with delicious donuts & the most darling gift boxes. It had all the essentials- a beautiful new notebook with my name on the front, chocolates, pencils, and all of Steve Moore's favorite floral tools. I use my new clippers everyday! Funny side story, the box also came with a mini bottle of champagne, which I forgot about until I was in an Uber en route to the airport. No champagne goes to waste around me- I felt super fancy sipping my champagne in the back of the uber haha.
The workshop was three days in length. In the mornings, we did a full "classroom" style session, with insider tips, techniques, and amazing stories. In the afternoons, we did hands on floral design with the third day putting all of our new skills to the test and creating a full on styled shoot. On our first day, I created this gorgeous arrangement! Steve did one for an example to show us exactly how it was done and then we were able to go buck wild choosing any of the amazing blooms in the studio to use! I was so proud!
On the last day, we were broken into teams. There were three styles we could choose from & I chose the neutral grays. I feel like a lot of events we do are brighter & more color oriented, so I was very excited to try something new. I naturally go for bold colors, so working with this palate was perfect to refine my skills. Out of the 4 of us on our team, we each created an arrangement for the table & the bride's bouquet. It was amazing to get these photos back & see our work incorporated into the gorgeous design.
Everything looked so magical and I am so thankful to have these gorgeous images to remember this absolutely amazing experience. Just days ago, we got word the shoots were featured on Style Me Pretty! Make sure you go to check all 3 of the gorgeous designs on their blog!
